I was testing at the wash the other day, when this absolute legend rolled up and got the best wash. We rolled out my new composite sealant package so he left that wash looking brand new. And then drove off onto the salt covered roads of a Michigan winter.... The hero we need, in these dark times.

Of course that begs the question of how it survived the car wash

No joke, the car’s size activated a safety mode in the wash that limits what brushes activate and how close they get. It didn’t get our usual wheel brushes and other brushes didn’t get as close. Smart cars activate it, and if a muddy truck comes in we activate it to keep mud and soil from building up on brushes.

Cant imagine the brushes get in behind the rear window properly.

Nope. And around the top of the hood and the lower sills too.

Is yours the kind of wash they go over by hand after?
I don’t take my MR2 to auto washes cause they miss spots (and my roof leaks and I’m too poor and I barely drive it so it’s rarely cleaned but got damn it it’s because it misses spots)

No, the whole model is designed around reducing labor overhead. THey’d rath er pay 2-4 workers well rather than have 5-8 workers making minimum wage. So we have a fancy drying tunnel to reduce the need for towels at the end. We do have free vacuums and sell a pack of shammies for a buck though, so we’ ve got that going for us! And for most cars, they do come out rather dry.

Will do! It’ll be in florida and georgia soon. But west coast might be a few more months.

I’ve never seen a wash like that before?

Look for Tommy’s Express sites. ALthough I will say, we have not yeat shipped these products outside of Michigan. I’m planning on making an announcement when it does.

Or carbon fiber

We just got our first Tommy’s and I’ve heard multiple reports of it scratching the ever loving crap out of people’s cars. One of the local SCCA guys ran through with a Tahoe and the back glass came out badly scratched. Corporate sent low resolution pictures from the store claiming it shows the damage was pre-existing. I’ve generally avoided automatic car washes that aren’t touchless, definitely hesitant to go through Tommy’s after what I’ve seen locally.
